Written in 1925 at the heart of The Jazz Age, No, No, Nanette’s delightful inconsequentiality is reflected in its toe-tapping music from the wild era of sheiks, flappers, plenty of money, urbane humor, and good old oh-so-slightly-saucy fun!

Madeleine Peyroux

June 28 - Friday @ 7:30 pm - The Shedd Institute

“The only thing that matters is the song," says Madeleine Peyroux. That conviction along with a one-of a-kind voice, has carried the Jazz artist from busking on the streets of Paris, all the way to mainstream recognition.

Through intensely distinctive renditions of old classics and modern tunes by the likes of Leonard Cohen and The Beatles, Peyroux has proved to be an uncannily insightful ‘interpreter’ with her consistently impeccable choice of material.

John Mayall

July 10 - Wednesday @ 7:30 pm - The Shedd Institute

"John Mayall's inestimable influence on the evolution of British blues stems more from his talents as a bandleader than from his own talents as a musician. While he's a very gifted instrumentalist, particularly on blues harp, it's his unerring ear for recognizing raw talent that's made John Mayall's Bluesbreakers,

in all its incarnations, the legend that it is today...John Mayall evolves by not evolving. At 73, he maintains a vibrancy in his music that never sounds dated. Part of that is his unabashed love for what he's doing. More importantly for us, what he loves happens to be the blues.."
