The Redoux Parlour

At The Redoux Parlour, we are pleased to offer the work of over 50 local artists and designers of clothing, jewelry and accessories. We believe that innovation in fashion design comes directly from street fashion and small, boutique manufacturers immersed in their neighborhood culture. Our artists serve their community, taking inspiration from the fashion choices they see around them, and designing clothing and accessories for their friends and social scenes before bringing them to the larger market. Working with these emerging subcultures means that we can bring you the latest trends long before they have saturated mainstream awareness.

Our particular focus is on using recycled materials and found objects, and our artists reflect this aesthetic in the work they show here. At the Redoux Parlour we believe that we can be fashion forward by tuning in with street trends, and that being a responsible consumer means favoring the use of re-purposed materials over pulling from new resources for each production run. We choose artists who share this commitment, and who can demonstrate superior technical skill in both the design and manufacture of their products.

Laura Lee Laroux graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with an AA in Fashion Design. Prior to that, she had earned a BS degree in Animal Science from Clemson University. She has been sewing and creating since her Grandmother taught her the basics at a young age. Miss Laroux has been creating and selling her own designs for over 10 years. She had her own accessories business in New York City and also learned micro production while working for another accessories designer.

In 2005, she moved to New Orleans to aid in disaster relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. In a tent amidst the disaster zone, she created and produced her line Sigh of Relief. Since then, she has produced three more lines, Made With Love Designs, Dress to Kill, and her current line Revivall Clothing. She has participated in and produced fashion shows around the country, the largest of which was Portland Fashion Week. Laura opened The Redoux Parlour in 2008 and has taught sewing there and at Wellspring Friends School.
