CAPELLA MARKET is named after the Alpha star in the constellation Auriga (the charioteer). As a double star made of two yellow class "G" stars, Capella is one of the three brightest stars in the northern sky, burning at a temperature roughly that of our own sun.

We are a neighborhood market with an emphasis on natural, organic and specialty foods. We have always been 100% locally owned and operated. We support local food producers and provide our produce trim free of charge to local farmers as animal feed. We have been downtown Eugene's grocery store since 1970, and are grateful that Eugene has a tradition of supporting local businesses.
