CAPELLA MARKET is named after the Alpha star in the constellation Auriga (the charioteer). As a double star made of two yellow class "G" stars, Capella is one of the three brightest stars in the northern sky, burning at a temperature roughly that of our own sun.
WE ARE A NATURAL FOODS store in Eugene, Oregon. Located on the south side of town at 2489 Willamette (directions), we are proud to be found in the old Oasis building (an old, local natural foods store which changed to a Wild Oats in 1997), an historic store which many of us worked for in the mid to late '90s.
Our connection to, our history with & our experience in the natural foods market is robust, and it shows. It shows in our friendly customer service & knowledgeble staff. It shows in our departments (learn more about them with the links on the side), from our Produce department stock full of organic & local fruits & veggies to our Meat department with hormone & antibiotic free choices.

We are proud to be one of very best meat shops in town, with a staunch commitment to freshness, flavor, and additive-free meat and seafood. We are happy to cut your meat or fish to order, and special requests are always welcome! We grind our own beef, chicken, turkey, and lamb, and we make our own bulk sausages from original recipes. Hot rotisserie chickens are available as well!
At the Capella deli counter, you'll find cheeses and cured meats sliced to your specifications, as well as built-to-order sandwiches and smoothies and coffee drinks. Tell us how you want your order created, and we'll do our best to please you! In addition to our standard deli fare, you'll find two whole refrigerated display cases (plus one hot case!) full of delicious entrees, salads and side dishes made right here in our newly remodeled kitchen. We have a full-time executive chef and a staff of prep cooks who are always creating new dishes to tantalize your tastebuds.
We buy local and organic when we can. And when organic and local are not available to us, we try to obtain the best quality conventional produce that we possibly can, from as close to home as possible. We have a great relationship with Organically Grown Company, a Eugene-based regional wholesaler that purchases 90% of its produce directly from the organic farms that grow it. And we also buy directly from local farms, especially during the peak growing season.
